Who to lead the service
.
Civil Celebrant or Clergy
The role of Clergy or Civil Celebrant is to officiate a funeral or memorial service. They will often meet with the family prior to the funeral service to learn about the person who has died and to offer support to the family. Civil celebrants will help with the eulogy, they will gather memories, anecdotes and defining moments in the loved one’s life to prepare the eulogy. They can do all the families talking and memory sharing or can work with family members in creating a wonderful celebration of a loved ones life.
If your family is a member of a church it is likely that a pastor, minister or reverend from your church would officiate the funeral service. We can also suggest suitable persons to officiate if requested.
We also work closely with several funeral celebrants and can recommend someone to suit your requirements. Most celebrants are not professionally affiliated with a religious or spiritual group and they are trained to officiate a service that is personal while incorporating unique stories and experiences of your loved one.
