Where to hold a service

Enfield Chapels

Acacia and Folland Chapels

Overlooking Enfield Memorial Park's gardens are its two chapels, the Acacia and Folland Chapels, which are available for cremation, burial and memorial services.

The chapels are complemented by lounge areas, where refreshments are offered after a service, an outdoor pavilion garden and private seating areas for quiet contemplation within peaceful garden surrounds.

Both chapels are equipped with modern sound systems and facilities to play your choice of music.

Heysen Chapel - Centennial Park

Heysen Chapel

Named after South Australian artist Sir Hans Heysen, this is the largest of the three chapels with seating capacity of 250 and an overflow area to accommodate up to 500 people.

On the ground level there is seating for approximately 150 with a further 100 accommodated in the upstairs mezzanine level. There is ample space to the front of the chapel for appropriate musical and other personal tributes.

Audio visual presentations are displayed via a plasma screen and large projection screen.
With portico accessibility to the rear it is possible to carry the coffin into the Heysen Chapel. Adjoining is a large lounge facility where family and friends can gather after the service for light refreshments.

Florey Chapel - Centennial Park

Florey Chapel

The Florey Chapel is suitable for seating 90 people with additionalstanding room to the rear. The chapel is named after famous South Australian and Nobel Prize winner Sir Howard Florey.

The Florey Chapel has a high cathedral like roof with windows providingample daylight.  Attractive greenery wraps around the inside of the chapel and mixed with the warmth of timber creates a very special ambience.

Audio Visual presentations are provided via the use of a large plasma screen at the front of the chapel.

Adjoining is a lounge facility where family and friends can gather after the service for light refreshments.

Mawson Chapel - Centennial Park

Mawson Chapel

The Mawson Chapel is suitable for seating 30+ people with additional standing room to the rear. The chapel is named after famous Australian Sir Douglas Mawson.

Mawson Chapel has an intimate feel, recently updated with a soft water feature surounding the coffin area.

Audio Visual presentations are provided via the use of a large plasma screen at the front of the chapel.

Adjoining is a lounge facility where family and friends can gather after the service for light refreshments.

We do eco friendlier burials too !

Using Willow Caskets, our Trundle Pine system or plain eco friendlier options, we can cater to your needs.

Wirra Wonga at Enfield Memorial Park and Pilyu Yarta at Smithfield Memorial Park are the two only dedicated natural burial grounds in SA.

Cremation

In Australia, over 65% of the population choose cremation services. For some cultures and religions, it is their preferred option. For most, it is a cost-effective and practical alternative. Charges for a cremation include the use of the crematorium chapel for the funeral service and the cremation process - these costs are variable. Most funerals held in a crematorium chapel last for 30-45 minutes, however if you require a longer service or are expecting a very large group of mourners, it is advisable to pay a little extra for extended use of the chapel, or we can discuss alternative chapels of venues suitable. We will arrange all of this on your behalf.

Most services are held at your preferred church, Enfield Memorial Park Acacia or Folland chapels or one of the three chapels at Centennial Park - Mawson, Florey and Heysen.

Usually, cremated remains are available within 48 hours of the service taking place.

Burial

Burial is the preferred option for many cultures and religions.

If a grave, vault or crypt is already owned, then the cost of the burial, (referred to as the opening and closing fee (interment)) will be included on the final funeral account. This cost is variable. The cemetery will require the owner of the grave to authorise burial within that grave. If the person who has died is the owner of the grave, then the person who is authorising the funeral service will also authorise the burial. These forms can be signed during our meeting with you.

We regularly provide burial services to all of Adelaide's major cemeteries. These include Dudley Park, Cheltenham, Payneham, Salisbury, Enfield, Smithfield, Centennial Park and West Terrace Cemeteries.
